Our apartments in the centre of Palau are built for couples: a private patio or veranda for breakfast, a real kitchen for the evenings you would rather stay in, air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi and a free parking spot. The sea is a ten-minute walk, the ferry pier a five-minute one. Self check-in means no reception and no fixed arrival window.

Is Sardinia a good honeymoon destination for American couples?
Very much so. It offers Caribbean-coloured water inside Europe, short distances, excellent food and wine, and far fewer crowds than the Amalfi Coast. With the seasonal nonstop from New York to Olbia you are on the beach the day after leaving home.
How many nights should we plan?
Seven to ten nights in one base works better than moving hotels. Palau puts you 15 minutes from the Maddalena archipelago boats and 30 minutes from the Costa Smeralda, so you unpack once.
What is the most romantic month?
June and September. The sea is warm, sunsets are long, restaurants are relaxed and prices are lower than in August. Late May is quieter still, with slightly cooler water.
Is an apartment romantic enough, or should we book a resort?
A private apartment with its own patio or veranda gives you breakfast in the sun, no buffet queues and no resort timetable — usually for a third of a Costa Smeralda hotel rate. You spend the difference on a private boat day, which is the memory that lasts.
Can we arrange a private boat for two?
