Check-in is from 3:00 PM. All apartments have self check-in with a keybox or electronic lock, so you can arrive at any time, even late at night after the last ferry or flight. You'll receive the code by email 24 hours before arrival.

Yes, every apartment has free parking nearby in public streets without paid zones or in reserved residential areas. The exact location depends on the apartment and is shared in the arrival instructions.

No, parking is in free public areas or resident zones, not in private garages. Palau is a small town and free parking is easy to find year-round, even in high season within a few minutes' walk.

Can I bring my dog or cat?

No, the apartments do not accept pets. This is because of guest allergies and to keep the apartments in top condition, and it applies to all units with no exceptions.

How far are the apartments from the sea?

The apartments are in the centre of Palau, about a 10-minute walk from the closest town beaches. For the famous Costa Smeralda and Porto Pollo beaches you'll need a car (5–20 minutes).

No, none of the apartments have a direct sea view. They are in the historic centre of Palau, in a quiet location a few steps from restaurants, bars and the La Maddalena ferry port.

How far is the La Maddalena ferry port?

About a 5-minute walk. You can reach the ferry pier on foot and do the day trip to the archipelago without taking the car.

Yes, sheets and towels are included in the price and ready on arrival. For stays of a week or longer, a mid-stay linen change is included free of charge.

Yes, the final cleaning is included in the booking price. We only ask you to leave the apartment tidy, with clean dishes and rubbish sorted in the provided bins.

How do I pay for my booking?

A 30% deposit is charged at booking by credit card. The balance is paid at check-in or a few days before, by bank transfer or card. Booking directly on our website saves you the OTA commission.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes, a refundable security deposit is held by credit-card pre-authorisation at check-in. It is released within 7 days of check-out if there is no damage.

Yes, the Municipality of Palau charges a small tourist tax per person per night (children under a certain age are exempt). It's paid in cash or by card at check-in.

How do I get to Palau?

Palau is in north-east Sardinia. The closest airports are Olbia (40 minutes by car) and Alghero (2 hours). Car ferries to Sardinia arrive in Olbia, Golfo Aranci, Porto Torres and from Civitavecchia. See our dedicated page for schedules and operators.

How often do ferries to La Maddalena run?

Year-round, every 15–30 minutes from around 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM (extended in summer). The crossing takes 15 minutes; tickets are bought at the port or online.

May to October. June and September offer the best balance of warm weather, swimmable sea and fewer crowds than July and August. April and October are ideal for hiking, excursions and exploring the old town.

Can I swim in May or October?

In May the water is still fresh (18–20 °C) but days are long and warm. In October the sea is around 21–22 °C: you can still swim on sunny days, especially in coves sheltered from the wind.
