Is it worth bringing a car?
It depends. If you're staying on the main island of La Maddalena for a day, it's better to go on foot and rent a car/scooter (15-30 €/day) or use local buses. If you want to explore Caprera, Spiaggia del Relitto, and Cala Coticcio, a car is convenient. Keep in mind that during high season, queues to board a car can exceed an hour.
Practical Tips
Arrive at the port 30-40 minutes before departure during high season. Parking at Palau port costs 1.50-2 €/hour. If you're staying in Palau city center (like in our Vento Mare apartments, a 5-minute walk from the port), you can leave your car in the center and walk to the ferry.
